LAB PETS
Stella Brown
Lead Pupsultant
My name is Stella and I am a 8-year old Mini Schnauzer. I graduated from obedience training (barely) in 2016 and I have served as a consultant in the lab ever since (thankfully, I have connections). I'm a self-proclaimed expert in appetite research and reinforcement training and look forward to training future lab members to give me snacks on command. I also serve as head of security and will bark at any animal who comes near my ACCEPT Team.
Briar Denmark
Graduate Pupsultant
My name is Briar, and I am a 13-year old German Shorthaired Pointer/Blue Heeler mix. Most kids call me Brian on accident so it's chill if you call me that too. I may be an old man, but do not be fooled - I am still an absolute menace (sorry, not sorry)! I was born and raised locally in Auburn, AL - so I know my way around the ACCEPT lab pretty well! Some of my favorite activities include snoring, swimming, pretending to be a lap dog, twitching in my sleep while dreaming, barking at anything moving near our front yard, chasing squirrels (I'll get one someday I swear), and begging for food like my life depends on it (it gets mom every time hehe;)).
Peanut Denmark
Graduate Catsultant
Meow! My name is Peanut and fun fact - I have been a stray cat my whole life! That was until I met my mom Kristin when one day, I kindly interrupted one of her ACCEPT Lab meetings while looking cute in her yard. I then found myself hanging out a lot outside of their house (duh, they gave me treats, water, and love), and eventually I just moved in and made myself at home. Since then, I've officially been adopted (heck yea). Even though they thought I was a 2 year-old girl (I'm a 10 year old boy), I still make sure to constantly snuggle, make silly faces, paw my old brother Briar, get crazy zoomies, and scratch their furniture like the good man that I am.
Samson Miller
Graduate Catsultant
Meow! My name is Samson. I love pets and treats. The Aristocats is my favorite movie. I have separation anxiety, so you may occasionally hear me scratching at the door or meowing in the background of Zoom calls because I miss my mom. Fun fact: my vet says I’m the most handsome cat she’s ever seen ;)
Delilah Miller
Graduate Catsultant
Meow! My name is Delilah. I love to be held and often like to climb on mom while she’s working (especially when she’s running analyses). I love to eat. If you hear me meowing in the background, it’s because my bowl is empty… again.
Maizy Miller
Herpetology Expert
My name is Maizy, and I am a leopard gecko. I enjoy basking in the sun, laying in my hammock, and occasionally attempting to scale the walls of my tank (I haven’t made it to the top yet). Most days I just don’t feel like eating - mom says I have a subtheshold ARFID diagnosis. I’m the most exotic member of the ACCEPT lab, and you may see me in the background of one of mom’s zoom calls if you’re lucky (I live in her office!).
RETIRED LAB PETS
Cira "Roo" Gebhardt
Retired Graduate Pupsultant
My name is Cira, and I am a 10-year old Australian/German Shepherd mix. I am self-trained in barking and barking accessories and have served as a consultant on a contract basis (we worked out a treat agreement). I am a field-trained expert in appetite satisfaction vs. saliva generation and ensure that my labmates and brother, Marty, get frequently updated on drool levels. I hope to someday serve as a Principaw Investigator (PI) for a double-blind, smell-controlled study on identifying sniff markers for good boys, girls, pups, or anyone else in the ACCEPT Team - they’re all good in my book!
Marty "Moo" Gebhardt
Retired Graduate Pupsultant
My name is Marty, and I am a 3-year-old Chiweeniedor (Chihuahua, Dachshund, Labrador mix). I only just graduated from the little-brother-anoys-big-sister (LbABS) program that I attended with my best friend, Tito, and am looking to explore new avenues with the ACCEPT Team. I specialize in MEERKATing (Making Everyone Everywhere Kare About Treats) and informing lab members when my daily scratching needs have not been met. I am still learning all the new lab people so don’t mind me if I bark – I just want to get to know you.
